Sixpence None The Richer Confirm First-Ever Australian Tour

American alternative rockers Sixpence None the Richer are heading to our shores in early 2027 for their first-ever Australian tour.

The news was confirmed today – shows at Canberra Theatre, Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre, Newcastle’s King Street Bandroom, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Tweed Heads’ Twin Towns, Brisbane’s The Tivoli, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Adelaide’s The Gov, and Perth’s Astor Theatre accompany the band’s debut performance at Port Fairy Folk Festival in March.

Sixpence None the Richer’s major hit, Kiss Me, spent three weeks at #1 in Australia in June 1999 – the track hit #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has since had a viral moment on social media and hit a billion streams on Spotify alone.

The band are also known for their successful singles There She Goes, Breathe Your Name, and their cover of Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over.

Their unique sound, characterised by founding members’ Leigh Nash’s unmistakable vocals and Matt Slocum’s intricate guitar work, lends to energetic live performances featuring strong guitar riffs, pounding drums, and thrilling melodies.

With recent releases including the live album, Live at Gruene Hall, released last year, and the EP Rosemary Hill, which dropped in 2024, Sixpence None the Richer head to Australia while firing on all cylinders. Nash shared excitement for the group’s first-ever Australian run: “I want to come out swinging,” she said.

For the tour, the band will be joined by special guest Ella Hooper.

Bursting onto the music scene as the singer of Killing Heidi, Hooper has reinvented herself as a solo artist, now three albums deep into a career spanning country, Americana, and synth folk. Her upcoming album, Overnight Success, drops next month.
