Ten-piece Queensland ska icons, the Sunny Coast Rude Boys, are concluding their BIG NIGHT OUT tour in their home state in February.

Back home after a whirlwind UK tour, the ska powerhouse brings the sunshine, two-tone, and unstoppable energy that’s made them a festival favourite across Australia. On Saturday, 21 February, the group returns to The Triffid in Brisbane, a show that’s sandwiched between a gig at Solbar in Maroochydore (Friday, 20 February) and Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast (Saturday, 7 March).

Joining the Sunny Coast Rude Boys at The Triffid are the band’s longtime friends and funk favourites, Cheap Fakes, who continuously light up stages with their fusion of funk, ska, pop, and Afrobeats.

Opening the night are two other acts: Cheap Fakes singer Hayden Andrews’ solo project, HaydenGoSeek, which blends vintage soul, heartfelt Americana, and reggae for a catchy set filled with emotionally resonant lyrics. Subculture will open the show at 6:30 pm, spinning ska and groove tunes to warm up the evening.

Early Bird tickets are sold out – you can find remaining tickets on Moshtix.

Following the above-mentioned shows, the Sunny Coast Rude Boys will perform at the Brisbane edition of Punkfest on Saturday, 11 April, and Camp For A Cure Festival in Gympie on Saturday, 2 May.

The Sunny Coast Rude Boys’ most recent single, Big Night Out, was released in November. A rollicking, horn-driven anthem, the song celebrates the timeless spirit of ska, dancefloors, and good times.

Written by Hayden James and music arranged by Sunny Coast Rude Boys’ youngest member, Rude Girl Sive Hughes, the single highlights the energy, wit, and cheeky bravado. It’s an ode to the past and the present, with everything about it bringing listeners into a party.

In addition to new original music, the band often pays tribute to icons of rock and pop, including Men At Work, The Clash, and many others.
